Integrated File System (IFS) & iSeries Netserver

This month’s topic on IFS will cover using iSeries Netserver.  iSeries Netserver allows Windows users and LINUX/SAMBA clients to access the IFS for file serving and printing.  It provides access to OS/400 shared directory paths and shared output queues.  Windows clients on a network utilize the file and print sharing functions that are included in their Operating Systems.  You do not need to install any additional software on your PC to use and benefit from iSeries Netserver.

Steve Fier has been with IBM for 28 years starting as a systems engineer and currently is an iSeries Certified Specialist.  Areas of expertise include application development, DB2 for OS/400, AIX, LINUX, Windows Integration and Domino.
